Edmund Robert "Bob" Dawson, 81, passed away Friday, March 7, in Bandera, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born April 25,1932 in Waco. Bob graduated from Corpus Christi High School and Texas A&M University in 1953 with degrees in petroleum engineering and geological engineering. Through the years, his devotion and fondness for Texas A&M remained strong. Bob's career as an independent oil producer spanned some 50 years as owner, engineer and manager. Additionally, for many years, he was an avid sailor and a Texas Hill Country rancher for most of his life. Throughout most of his life, Bob enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. He was actively involved with the Bandera United Methodist Church. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marilyn Hunt Dawson; her father, Earl Hunt; children, Genenne Dawson Granberry, Cristel Dawson Moore (Mike), Diane Dawson Mastrud, Samantha Burrell (Gary), Michele Eyerly, and Craig Eyerly (Laura); and grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Moore, Ashley and Robert Granberry, Tanner Mastrud, Rusty Burrell, Gavin and Abby Eyerly; as well as by many treasured friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund Willingham and Modelle Green Dawson, and grandson Brian William Moore. A memorial service was held at 11:30 am, Saturday, March 22, at Bandera United Methodist Church.
